The Black River is the perfect place for both floating AND fishing. We recommend Jeff's Canoe Rental in Annapolis (a quick 7 miles from the RV Park) for all your floating needs.

Love trout fishing? Now you can fish for trout right down the road! C Hwy. Trout Farm has fee fishing for rainbow trout--no permit needed; no limit! You can fish from three different ponds, and other fishing is available. C Hwy. Trout Farm is located on Hwy. 49 south of Annapolis--turn left on Hwy. C, and it's approx. 2 miles on the left. Looking for adventure? Check out the new zip line course in Mine La Motte--only 23 miles from Ironton! Zip and Dip Zip Lines is open 7 days a week at the OffSets in Mine La Motte. In addition to zip lines, The OffSets offers swimming, cave diving, and much more!

If you're into lake fishing, you're 5 miles from Crane Lake and Crane Lake Conservation Area. This is a trolling-motor only lake, with fishing for largemouth bass, channel catfish, and panfish. Clearwater Lake is a quick 25-minute drive away, and is great for fishing, swimming or water-skiing. Check out the fishing report at the Clearwater Lake website.

Love treasure hunting? Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt, using your handheld GPS! There are several geocaches in the surrounding area...check out http://www.geocaching.com and click Play in the menu bar across the top to find geocaches wherever you're traveling.

Horseback Riding
Love to ride? Check out Black River Traditions in Annapolis. Only 5 miles from the RV Park and close to the Black River, it's a great activity for the whole family! Prefer to bring your own horse? Hiking and Biking
There are many places to hike and bike. There are trails along Big Creek right here at Big Creek RV Park that are perfect for walking. You can hike and bike the trail around Crane Lake, which winds through Crane Lake Conservation Area. Or hike part of the Ozark Trail...check out the various trail maps at the Ozark Trail website. The portions of the trail closest to us are the Taum Sauk section and the Marble Creek section. There are also hiking and biking trails near Clearwater Lake.
